Frequently Asked Questions
Do your puppies have AKC registration?

Yes. Every puppy comes with AKC limited registration paperwork. Limited registration means your puppy is registered with the American Kennel Club but is not for breeding purposes. On occasion, full registration may be available to approved breeders. If you are interested in this option, please contact me directly for more information.
Are your breeding dogs health tested?

Yes — always. We make sure both the mom and dad are thoroughly tested before any litter is planned. Each of our dogs has OFA certifications for hips and elbows, along with full genetic testing through Embark. We believe this is the right way to do things, and it’s something we are deeply passionate about. Health testing not only protects the future of the Labrador breed, but it also gives our families peace of mind knowing their puppy is starting life with the healthiest foundation possible.

Will my puppy come with vaccinations, deworming, and a vet check?

Yes. Each puppy is seen by our veterinarian for a full wellness exam sometime between 6–8 weeks old. During this visit, the vet gives the first set of vaccines, performs a fecal test, and completes the microchipping. The exam also includes checking your puppy’s heart, lungs, eyes, ears, teeth, joints, belly, skin, and overall development to ensure they are healthy and thriving.
In addition, we deworm preventatively using Panacur at 3, 5, and 7 weeks of age. We’ll keep you updated throughout the process with any health information, and we’ll provide the timing of your puppy’s next appointment so you can schedule it with your veterinarian before pick-up.

Do you microchip your puppies?

Yes, every puppy is microchipped before leaving our care. We’ll provide the information and instructions you need to register the chip in your name.

Do you provide a health guarantee?

Yes, every puppy comes with a written health guarantee. We stand behind our puppies and will always be here to support you in their care.

What early training or socialization do your puppies receive?

From day three of life, our puppies begin Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and Early Scent Introduction (ESI). We also follow Puppy Culture protocols, which means we are purposeful about introducing age-appropriate challenges and experiences at just the right stages of development.
Throughout their time with us, the puppies are gently exposed to household sounds, handled daily by both adults and children, and introduced to nail trims and baths. They also spend time with our two adult Labs, Sky and Pow, who play an important role in teaching them healthy dog-to-dog communication and manners.
By the time your puppy goes home, they’ve already had a solid foundation built for confidence and adaptability. These early experiences set the stage for easier training and smoother transitions once they’re in your home.

How do you match puppies with families?

From the moment they are born until the day they go home, we are carefully observing each puppy’s personality, confidence level, and energy. Starting at 6 weeks old — when puppies’ personalities are more clearly developed — we begin the selection process. Families are invited to our home in the order deposits were received, based on gender preference and availability, to begin choosing their puppy.
We provide each family with our observations and are happy to offer recommendations based on what you are looking for, but ultimately the decision is yours. Choosing at 6 weeks not only ensures you see each puppy’s personality more clearly, but it also allows your family time to bond with your puppy before pick-up at 8 weeks. This also gives us two additional weeks to focus on your puppy’s individual needs and prepare them for a smooth transition home.
Are your puppies exposed to children, noises, and everyday life before going home?

Yes! With four children in our family and plenty of daily activity, our puppies grow up surrounded by love, laughter, and real-life experiences. Not only do they get constant socialization with their littermates, but they are also raised alongside our two adult Labs, Sky and Pow, who help teach them important dog-to-dog social skills along the way. This exposure prepares your puppy to adjust easily when they transition into their new home.

How do I reserve a puppy?

If you are interested in a puppy, the first step is to check our current availability here: alphaenglishlabs.com/available-puppies. If we currently have puppies available, the next step is to fill out our puppy application: alphaenglishlabs.com/puppy-application.
If we do not have availability, you are always welcome to reach out to me anytime to check on when we might be expecting another litter — I’m always happy to chat.
Once your application is submitted, I kindly recommend sending me a quick text to make sure it went through. After your application is reviewed, I will contact you directly. If approved, the next step is to place a $500 deposit to reserve your spot. This deposit is applied toward the total cost of your puppy, with the remaining balance due on pick-up day at 8 weeks old.

When can I pick up my puppy?

Puppies are ready for their forever families at 8 weeks old. This allows them the proper time to grow, learn from their mother and littermates, and receive early socialization before transitioning to your home.

Do you offer transportation if I’m not local?

Yes! If you are not local, my husband personally takes the puppies to the airport and hand-delivers them to their new families. They never leave his side during the entire trip, ensuring a safe and stress-free journey. The cost of shipping varies depending on flights and travel time. Feel free to reach out to us directly for a custom quote!

What support do you provide after I bring my puppy home?

When you bring home a puppy from Alpha English Labs, you also gain our lifetime breeder support. Whether it’s questions about training, health, or simply reassurance, we’re here for you every step of the way. We also stay connected through our private family group, “AEL: Friends – The Pack We Call Family,” and love receiving updates as your puppy grows.

What if I can no longer keep my puppy?

If circumstances ever change, we always welcome with open arms for our puppies to come back home to us. No matter their age, they will always have a safe and loving home here. Life can be unpredictable, and there is never any shame in reaching out — we’d much rather you contact us than worry about what to do. Our commitment to every puppy lasts a lifetime.
